Stevie Wonder fans, rejoice! My fellow Stevie fans – I thought it only right to share with you the possible emergence of a new Stevie Wonder track, because, hope. Yes I said it – conceivable, probable, NEW Stevie goodness for all.
In celebration of Stevie Wonder’s 64th birthday (May 13, 2014), Funk-U released a 44-second snippet of what sounds like a smooth, but upbeat love jam. “So Much In Love” is said to have been recorded nearly 40 years ago during the sessions for LP Songs In The Key of Life (1976). So it’s brand new, but not new-new. But, Stevie!
Chronology aside, this preview is just long enough to ignite excitement and elevate anticipation for the possibility of an otherwise unmentioned new single or even better, an entire collection of unheard greatness from the living legend just in time for the summer.
The buzz generated by the thought alone of new Stevie Wonder music is a solid testament to fans’ need for art of his caliber. Bestowing upon us more than 20 albums, 390+ songs and selling over 100 million albums and singles, it seems almost selfish to want more from the composer, singer, humanitarian and activist.
But have you listened to the radio lately? We need more Stevie like Mr. Wonder needs music. Check back here for the full song once it’s released. In the meantime check the snippet if you haven’t heard it, then drop a comment below to let us know what you think!
Happy Belated Birthday Stevie!
