Upfronts is a star-studded event in which the networks present the shows on their lineups in an effort to vie for more advertisers. Fox is scheduled to present Sleepy Hollow on Monday, May 12 at 4 P.M.
Beharie plays Lt. Abbie Mills a feisty police officer in small-town Sleepy Hollow who joins forces with a new, totally revised version of Washington Irving’s Ichabod Crane. Together the two are tasked with stopping the impending apocalypse.
Sleepy Hollow was picked up for a second season just as the first season began last year and is slated for an additional two episodes this time around, bringing the grand total to 15. The show’s near-instant success surprised critics, skeptics and even the show’s own cast and crew.
The show, which also stars Orlando Jones, Lyndie Greenwood and John Cho boasts one of the most diverse casts on American television in terms of gender and race, resumed shooting in Wilmington, NC earlier this month.
This diversity, which has been praised time and again and was admittedly intentional on the parts of the shows creators, undoubtedly attributes to the cult following of fans known as Sleepy Heads.
Sleepy Hollow airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Fox and is slated to return this September.
