The BET Awards happened last night so of course I pulled up a chair to witness the annual celebration of black pop culture. Where else can I be reminded about the questionable loyalty of promiscuous persons while simultaneously being taught the importance of Myrlie Evers and Fannie Lou Hamer? On MTV? CBS? I think not!
I also got my tweeting thumbs ready because, as with all good things in pop culture, the national watch party that is Black Twitter was in rare form. Between Beyoncé and Jay-Z satelliting their performance and Chris Rock making most of the guests uncomfortable there was a lot to talk about during the event. We have to say, @DearWhitePeople is the real MVP of #BETAwards2014 commentary and we were completely here for all they dished out.
Here are a collection of some our favorite and most hilarious tweets of the night.
